Plasma Cutting Plasma Cutting.
This 1950s view shows the flame cutting machine that allowed for custom design specs. These machines had torches that achieved temperatures high enough to melt steel and therefore "cut" it into shape.

Spun Heads Spun Heads.
This view is of the 276-inch Spun Heads machine which produced the largest heads at the time. A circular blank of steel is placed hot on the machine and spun at a high speed while being slowly pressed and rolled into a dome shape.
